Trading SPI and Dax Futures

Bit late with the writeup today because I've been trading the Dax.

I was at my son's football pie night and missed the morning drop from 5330 highs

Looked to trade the zone around 5260 but was very messy with my trades.

Was pretty much scratch until the trend move up where I made around $1100 US

Overtrading in the zone area is something for me to improve on.

The SPI trading today was a little delayed as there was 2-3 ft waves on a clear sunny day.

Surfing took priority with only me and the fish. In my books it was the perfect morning.

The SPI in the morning session for the third time traded off the 4105 and 4120 support resistance areas.

I scalped a few trades today with my successful trades off the retest fail at 11:45am and the 2:15pm trend move.

Those long term readers of my blog know how important this time frame is to me.

With the SPI trades and a BHP long with the 11:45 SPI long I finished up $2300 AUD after brokerage.

A reminder that Alexander's webinar is tomorrow morning.

For those that make it, I'll see you there.

HSI trade from Adam

This email from Adam helps makes it worthwhile doing the blogs.

"Hi Davin

I have learnt an incredible amount from your blogs - feel free to use this on your blog if you want to illustrate how you have helped others".

I liked the way he picked up that the market was failing and adapted to a short position.

Being able to change bias means he should do well as a trader.

Brain Power

A link to this New York Times Article from Dr Brett.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/28/health/research/28brain.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&em

A study into how hunches prove to be valuable on the battle field.

I believe this is also important in a trading perspective.

"emotions as practical action programs that work to solve a problem, often before we’re conscious of it".

Trading the Dax

Today I was up at 3:30am so I traded the Dax for a few points and went back to bed for a few hours.

Who needs sleep when the Dax is moving?

Back up and trading at 5:00 am with my last trade at 9:45 am.

That left today to do other things in Buckhead and have a couple of vodka's tonight

I don't have pics or video today as I was trading off my laptop.

Profit today was US $1012

The link shows today's trades

I've made a link to the Atlanta Kookaburra's AFL site I mentioned that I played in.

It describes the game quarter by quarter and my "wobbly Legs"

Anyone who likes AFL and is interested in supporting or playing give Jim Batten a call on their contact page.
